A Healthy Way to Glow!

According to the skin care foundation more than 5.4 million cases of non-melanoma skin cancer are treated in more than 3.3 million people. It also reports that a 2012 study revealed an alarming rise in melanoma among people ages 18-39, and over the past 40 years, rates of this skin cancer grew by 800% among young women and 400% among young men.

As rates of melanoma rise so does the growth of sunless tanning services. People are becoming more aware of the dangers of the sun's ultraviolet rays and are embracing todays sunless tanning formulas, which have come along way from the '80's, when sunless tanning resulted in an unrealistic tan (or better yet a shade of orange) accompanied by a foul odor.

Find the Perfect Red Lip for YOUR Skin Tone

February 18th, 2016 • Posted by Posted by: BreAnna • Permalink

Red lipstick makes a statement. It can take time to find your perfect red lip, but it doesn’t have to. There are so many tips and guides to choosing the right shade and undertone, and today we’re going to break it down.

Matching Undertones
The easiest way to find the red that fits you best is to look at the undertone of your skin and lipstick. There are two undertones: cool and warm. Most people have a warm undertone (think olive, golden and peachy). Few people have cool undertones (think pink, red or blue).

For warm skin tones, best red lip is one that has warm undertones as well. Our top glo minerals picks are Suede Matte Crayon in crush, Suede Matte Stick in pinup, Lipstick in siren and Cream Glaze Crayon in jetset.

For cool skin tones, the best red is one that, you guessed it, has cool undertones as well. Our top picks are Suede Matte Crayon in bombshell, Lipstick in vixen and Gloss in poppy

Opposite Undertones
Matching your skin and lipstick undertone is a safe way to go, but here is where you can get creative! Step out of the box and choose the opposite undertone for some unexpected red statements. For someone who has a warm, olive tone, picking out a deep, plum red will give you a classic, vintage look. For a cool, fair skin tone choose a deep, brick red to give warmth and drama to your look.

For warm skin tones, try a deep plum like Lipstick in bordeaux or aubergine, Suede Matte Stick in port, Liquid Lips in desire or a bright, cool red like Suede Matte Crayon in bombshell.

For cool skin tones, pick Sheer Lipstick in jamaica, Lipstick in snapdragon or cabaret, Liquid Lips in sultry or a bright, warm orange like Suede Matte Stick in pop!

Don’t get too hung up on if a tone is right or wrong, pick a shade that looks best when on! Matching undertones is a guide, not a rule. When you find the right one, you’ll know it was a match made in heaven.

Did you know brittle nails are dry nails? That is why moisturizing is so important. Daily moisturizing using cuticle oil helps nail growth along with reducing chipping, cracking and splitting.

Nail biting weakens the nails.

Protein rich foods such as yogurt and eggs help build nail strength.

Nails splitting can be a result of calcium deficiency.

Keep nails shaped and free of snags by filing with an emery board.

Do not over buff nails, this can cause weak and thin nails.

So let those beautiful nails shine.
